ConnectVETS is a national leader in providing online job search education and career transition resources for transitioning Service Members and Veterans to facilitate Military Talent Acquisition.
ConnectVETS was founded to support the men and women who have served our country. ConnectVETS.org has been a Chicago based organization supporting the men and women who have served our country, by connecting Veterans with private sector employment opportunities since 2007. We are neither affiliated with nor biased toward any political organization or strategy.
ConnectVETS is excited to announce the online, on-demand launch of its educational curriculum:
"Veterans Employment Transitioning for Success" (VETS) Program titled 'New Mission"
The ConnectVETS mission is more important now than ever. According to a December 17, 2011 article in The Economist, more than 1 million new Veterans are expected to join the civilian workforce over the next four years.
Please join and support ConnectVETS so that the New Mission curriculum can be available to
ALL transitioning Service Member and Veterans at NO CHARGE.
Just $100 will sponsor a transitioning Service Member or Veteran for an entire year,
Only $35 sponsors a transitioning Service Member or Veteran for 3 months.
Why is ConnectVETS needed now more than ever? The facts speak for themselves:
- Nationwide, the jobless rate among veterans ages 20 to 24 continues to be significantly higher than non-vets of the same age. 1
- More than 80% of veterans feel unprepared for the private sector when they leave the military. 2
- 91% of those in the military's job transition program with <10 years of service do not have a job lined up when discharged.1
- More than 60% of U.S. employers say they have favorable impressions of military service but don't understand the qualifications this service instills.2
Are unemployment and underemployment appropriate ways to thank our veterans for their service and sacrifice? We think not. Yet this is exactly what these men and women face when they leave the military.
