Board of Directors

Emily Garrity, President
In addition to being a Marine Mom, Emily Garrity is the President and Founder of Great Lakes Records Management (GLRM), an information solutions company providing offsite physical document storage, scanning/imaging, and retention/destruction services. She is an active member of leading industry associations including Professional Records & Information Services Management International (PRISM), Association for Records Managers & Administrators International (ARMA) and ECM/Association for Image & Information Management International (AIIM).

Emily is a member of Lake County Partners, a 501c3 economic development organization, and serves on the board of the GLMV (Green Oaks, Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills IL) Chamber of Commerce, from which Emily received of the Volunteer of the Year award for 2007. In 2006, she was appointed to the Lake County Workforce Investment Board and has also served as a Precinct Committeeman for three terms.

With a strong belief in giving back to her community, Emily is also a member of Rotary International – Antioch Club. She was awarded the Illinois Association of Park Districts and Illinois Park and Recreation Association 2005 Community Service Award for service to the Lindenhurst Park District.

Emily received a B.A. in Economics with a mnor in Spanish and International Business Certificate from Arizona State University.


Diana L. Quinn, Vice President
Diana Quinn is a seasoned human resources professional, with 25 years of experience including more than 15 years leading the HR activities of several organizations in the manufacturing, marketing and service sectors. In 2004, Diana founded The Quinn Co., a consulting firm that helps small to mid-sized companies develop and execute HR strategies.

Diana holds a B.A. in Human Resource Management from the University of Illinois, Champaign, Illinois and a Master of Management from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University. She is a member of SHRM and the OD Network, certified in several management training programs and a former instructor at the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

In addition to co-founding ConnectVETS.org, Diana’s not-for-profit experience includes co-founding the Center for Women and serving as a board member for the GLMV Chamber of Commerce.


Beth Keno, Secretary
Beth Keno is Managing Director of BKB Advisors, L.L.C. a management advisory firm. As partner and leader of BKB’s service industry and internal control practice, Beth brings over 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur and a provider of services to entrepreneurs. She works with business owners and client teams improving the effectiveness of their business processes and bringing those results to the bottom line.

Prior to joining the firm, Beth built an independent regional sales and service firm that served more than 100 regional law firms using Juris Law Management Software. This entrepreneurial experience helped grow Beth’s expertise in integrating ownership, process, measurement, training, strategy and planning.

Beth holds a B.A. in Psychology from Loyola University of Chicago.


Betty Jean Nissen
Betty Jean Nissen is founder and principal of Career Connections, which provides customized training and consulting services to both commercial and educational organizations. Her firm's areas of expertise include strategic planning, leadership development and performance management.

As a certified Professional in Human Resources, Betty works as a career strategist for local veterans, helping them make the transition into private-sector employment, education and entrepreneurship.

Betty is a consultant with the U.S. Small Business Administration under the guise of the Illinois Small Business Development Network, serves on the Small Business Advisory Board at McHenry County College and is a member of the Island Lake Ethics Committee. She also teaches several classes in business development at the local level.

Betty holds a B.A. in Marketing from University of Wisconsin.

 

  Advisory Board

Dan Hess
Dan is founder and president of Thought Motor, an advisory firm that helps companies across diverse industries to create new products and strategies and develop startup and early stage ventures. He is also founder of biggestblock.com, a network for homeowner association leaders.

Prior to founding Thought Motor, Dan served as Vice President of Marketing and Strategy for Tribune Interactive (TI), a division of Tribune Company that manages the Internet operations of major media brands such as the Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, New York Newsday, WGN-TV, KTLA-TV and many others.

Prior to joining TI, Dan was part of the original executive team that built comScore, a leading marketing consultancy and research firm. During Dan’s six years at comScore, the company grew from startup to $60 million in revenue and more than 350 employees.

Previously, Dan held various management roles throughout ten years at Information Resources, Inc. (IRI), where he consulted with major consumer marketing firms including Nestle Purina Pet Care, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Wm. Wrigley Co., and Church & Dwight Co. in the development of marketing and sales strategies. He has served on the boards or advisory boards of Readoz.com, the Pew Internet and American Life Project in Washington DC, the Ad:Tech conference and the Midwest Technology Executives Club.

Dan holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Rochester.

Peter Stockslager
As a Registered Investment Advisor and a member of Water Tower Financial Partners LLC, Peter Stockslager consults with businesses and individuals on their investment and insurance needs.

Peter served in the US Air Force and is a two tour Veteran of the Vietnam War who is committed to supporting and mentoring our veterans as they honorably transition from military duty to the private sector workforce. He is an active member of the Northbrook Chamber of Commerce and the American Legion
